He's the DJ, She's the runner - Jenny and Todd's Hawthorne Bar Wedding, Boston
Jenny and Todd were married on July 12, 2014 with a ceremony and reception at the Hawthorne Bar in downtown Boston. It's located in the Hotel Commonwealth, around the corner from Fenway Park. Todd is an avid DJ with an amazing taste in music. He and I hit it off right away because of that. Jenny is an avid runner and loves good food and drink. Actually both Jenny and Todd are foodies - which as many people know is the way to my heart. Todd won the Best of Boston this year for Best Sommelier for 2014, so when I say foodies - it is no joke.
Jenny grew up in Miami, FL. and Todd grew up in Fairfax, VA. They met through their mutual friend Carey—the first friend Jenny made when she moved to Boston 10 years ago. Carey also happened to work with Todd at Armani Cafe. The day after getting back from visiting Miami in August of 2004, Carey invited Jenny to a party, and Todd happened to be there as well, and I guess the rest is history.
The couple has a thing for penguins, so Todd, for his proposal, wanted to go take a walk by the aquarium that day—but it was raining, and Jenny told him that she wanted to rest before they went to dinner. So Todd improvised. She was sitting on the couch having a cup of coffee and watching football, and Todd just asked her right there in their living room.
The day of the wedding, my second shooter, Kerri Green, and I met at the Hawthorne. I went with Jenny and the girls, and Kerri went with Todd and the guys. We did a first look, then they got married at the top landing of the restaurant. We did more formals on Comm Ave, followed by tons of dancing. Todd actually spun some amazing music for about an hour while Jenny and her friends and family danced the night away. The wine and cocktails flowed, and it was a ball.
Thank you, Jenny & Todd, the whole day was a blast for sure. Oh and Todd, you best believe I'm coming to your restaurant soon so you can school me on wine. Miss you both already.
