Dancin' in the Dark: Meagan and Kevin's Cape Cod wedding at the Dennis Inn
Kevin and Meagan were married on August 15, 2015, with a ceremony and reception at The Dennis Inn. It was a crazy beautiful Cape Cod Wedding.
I actually met Meagan during my second year as a vendor at the Lovesick Expo in Boston. We knew it was meant to be about 5 minutes after she walked up to my booth and said hello. She and her fiancé, Kevin, had just returned from living in China for quite a while, and they were still getting settled back into living in the States, so things were still a little unsure for them. But the one thing she knew for sure was that she couldn’t wait to marry her guy.
After we met, Meagan invited me to check out their website, and I have to say, when I read it, I thought: “Oh boy, this wedding is gonna be off the hook, because they have a wicked sense of humor.” Here is a little bit of that hilarity:

Here is their proposal story in their words:
On a private beach in Koh Phi Phi, Thailand, the two lovebirds were sitting in the sand, looking for shells. All of a sudden, Kevin whipped the ring box out of his pocket, and his grandmother's ring fell into the sand, and waves started to sink it into a watery grave. After many expletives, Kevin retrieved the ring and told Meagan to quickly stand up. Crisis averted, he popped the question. The End Beginning!
The night before the wedding, I photographed the rehearsal dinner, which was a big clam bake and a chance for everyone to get to know one another. When it was time for the couple to speak to their guests, Meagan toasted to her soon-to-be husband. Meagan warned me that she wasn't really a mushy kind of woman, but all bets were off when she said to Kevin, "Kevin, you make me feel like Courtney Cox in the Bruce Springsteen video ‘Dancing in the Dark.’” I walked up to her and said that was the most epic thing I had ever heard. I totally got them at that moment.
On the day of the wedding, my second shooter, Lindsay Hite, and I met up on the cape and then immediately went our separate ways. I hung with Meagan and her bridesmaids at the Dennis Inn, while Lindsay hung out down the road with Kevin and his groomsmen. The couple decided to go for a first look so that they would be able to attend their cocktail party, because they had so many friends from all over the world attending their wedding.
Their dinner, complete with Meagan's favorite baked potato bar, was a huge hit. But actually, I think the bigger hit was when Meagan's uncle gave the most amazing Irish, Boston-style, long-winded, incredibly funny toast I have ever heard. Everyone was cracking up, including Lindsay and I.
After dinner, Meagan changed into a tutu and Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers so she and her husband could dance the night away. The music was the best. The couple had artists like Depeche Mode and WuTang Clan—and I think even a little New Order. Needless to say, I was dancing too.
Kevin and Meagan, I hope your life is filled with dancing in the light . . . and the dark! Thank you for including me in such an epic weekend.
